Oktoberfest in Singapore

What? Do you think it's odd? Going to a Biergarten to have Paulaner, Brezeln, Schweinshaxen with Sauerkraut and Kartoffelsalat to the tune of an Austrian Band on the South China Sea with 32 degrees Celsius? Well... we did it! Unfortunately Miguel was on his way back from a conference in Washington and could not join. We were with friends living in Singapore, David and Betty (US and S'pore), Steen and Emily (Danish and Oz) with little Ella, Mark (Swiss), and a couple of Swiss friends who came with Mark, Stephan and Sandra, and they obviously had a blast! We sang, danced, clapped hands, drank and had a lot of fun.

Dangerous Obsession

Since last night and for four consecutive nights, Stephanie is Sally Driscoll in Dangerous Obsessions by N.J. Crisp. She is the female character of this trio in the DBS Arts Centre and... she is fabulous!!! The play is a psycho-thriller which has a lot of twists and turns and Sally is confronted with a surprising situation. Isn't she daring to go on stage like this? She can.. but still!
Stephanie is not only beautiful but a wonderful actress and everybody could tell that she enjoys being on stage.
I will see her every night: lucky me!

Palau Tioman

Tioman is a small island off the south-east coast of Malaysia, next to Rawa (some might know that one) and was elected "the most beautiful island" by Time magazine a few years ago. Well, I don't know about that but it's jolly beautiful!!

Steen, a Danish friend based in Singapore with his lovely wife Emily and their adorable 8-moths old Ella, owns a little Piper (a mono-engine plane) and invited us to... have breakfast in Tioman. We left Singapore early on that Saturday morning and a little more than one hour later, we approached Tioman airport. In the meantime, Steen patiently explained all the instruments on board and even gave the comman of the plane to Capt'n Miguel!

In Tioman, a good breakfast was awaiting us at Anita's, a little restaurand on a beach on the east coast of the island. We swam in the transparent waters and Miguel spent a long while playing with a turtle over the reef close to the shore.

The flight back gave us the opportunity to take a close look at other islands on the area: just fly down and circle over it. Magnificent.
We loved the excursion, loved the company, loved the flying experince and Miguel is very tempted by becoming a real pilot! Time will tell. But thanks to Steen, we have great memories!!
